Şükrü Özyıldız: 'The Moment I See A Wrong, I Don't Give That Person A Second Chance'
Actor Şükrü Özyıldız was the guest on the second episode of Kişisel Dönüşüm Mutfağı, Aret Vartanyan's show on YouTube. When the talk turned back to an interview he gave in 2012, the subject became second chances, and Şükrü Özyıldız answered by separating a mistake from a wrong.
Aret Vartanyan reminded Şükrü Özyıldız of what he said in 2012.
“You said you never forgave the wrongs done to you, and ‘I don't believe in second chances.’ You said that in an interview in 2012. Is that still true? So you wouldn't give a second chance?”
Şükrü Özyıldız refused to treat a mistake and a wrong as the same thing.
“I don't think a mistake and a wrong are the same thing. Everybody makes mistakes, but a wrong is... There's a hidden agenda, a different intention, some other calculation behind a wrong. The moment I see a wrong, I don't give that person a second chance.”
His answer on cheating took one sentence: “It's a wrong, of course.”
That was how Şükrü Özyıldız replied when Aret Vartanyan asked, “When one side cheats on the other, is that a mistake or a wrong?” He went on: “I mean, a mistake is an accident, look.” When Aret Vartanyan said, “A wrong is intent, it's conscious,” Şükrü Özyıldız replied, “There's something else there.”
For Şükrü Özyıldız, a wrong has a process behind it
“There's awareness there, an intention, a desire, a calculation. It's been thought through, weighed. A process has been gone through. You kept going past all the bends where you could have turned back.”
