Scandalous Decision from Germany: They Didn’t Even Allow 20 Children
Belit Onay, a German politician of Turkish descent, made history by being elected as the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality of Hannover. As the first mayor of a major German city with Turkish roots, Onay, a member of the Green Party, proposed bringing 20 sick and injured children from Gaza to Germany for treatment. However, the German Ministry of the Interior declined Onay's proposal, citing 'complex procedures' as the reason.
Belit Onay, a politician of Turkish origin who has been the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality of Hannover since 2019, has requested that 20 children from Gaza be brought to the country for medical treatment.

The German government has rejected Onay's proposal. Belit Onay, the Mayor of Hannover from the Green Party, expressed his deep disappointment with the decision of the Ministry of Interior, stating that he couldn't make sense of the situation.
Steffen Krach of the Social Democratic Party, on the other hand, emphasized that over 16,000 people in Gaza were in desperate need of care abroad, stating, 'It's cruel not to provide this aid to at least those most in need, namely the children.'
It has been learned that the Ministry of Interior cited the 'very confusing and unpredictable' situation in Gaza and the complex procedures as the reason for not allowing 20 needy children to be brought into the country.
