Roblox founder rewarded $230 million pay package
Roblox founder and CEO David Baszucki received a $230 million compensation package last year, making him one of the country's highest-paid CEOs, according to a filing on April 4.
The pay package's content is actually a long-term achievement compensation for Baszucki, which is valued at more than $230 million dollars.
Some companies, such as Tesla, are using the Long-Term Achievement Award to retain CEOs by linking their pay to the company's performance. The plan has already been heavily criticized because it resulted in billions of dollars in payouts to founders.
Roblox launched on the market in March last year and has since reported an estimated 83 percent increase in profits, but a significantly bigger 25 cents for each share loss in the 4th quarter in February.
Roblox shares were suspended at around $50 on Monday, which is about 28% lower than the closing price on its first day of trading on March 10, last year.
