NASA's Alarm Over 2024 YR4 Asteroid: Could It Impact Earth?
Is Earth at Risk? A recently discovered asteroid, 2024 YR4, has scientists on edge after NASA raised its potential risk. Initially thought to have only a 1.2% chance of impact, that number has now climbed to a 2% risk! As astronomers monitor the asteroid closely, concerns grow about its potential collision with Earth. What does this mean for our planet? Let’s dive into the shocking details surrounding this space threat. 🌍💥
Are you ready for an asteroid collision with Earth?

The asteroid named 2024 YR4, discovered on December 27, 2023, is gaining attention among millions of other asteroids because it has a potential to collide with Earth. Initial estimates suggest that this asteroid has a diameter between 40 and 90 meters.
Located 43 million kilometers away from us, 2024 YR4 could collide with Earth in 2032.

The asteroid is ranked at level 3 on the Torino Impact Hazard Scale, which is used to assess asteroids with the potential to collide with Earth. This level is considered dangerous on a local scale but harmless on a global scale. In other words, even if the asteroid were to hit Earth, it would only cause damage in the area where it lands!
The probability of the asteroid colliding with Earth is estimated to be 1.2%.

However, some sources indicate that this probability could rise to 2%. So, where could the asteroid strike? According to NTV, NASA engineer David Rankin has created a risk map. The map shows that countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Sudan, Nigeria, Venezuela, Colombia, and Ecuador are at risk.
The asteroid, nicknamed "City Destroyer," has a power equivalent to 500 times the strength of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima!

If the 2% chance occurs, it is predicted that an explosion with the power of 8 million tons of TNT could take place. The UN has recently taken action regarding the 'City Destroyer' asteroid. A UN protocol has been established to monitor its movements. Meanwhile, NASA continues to assess the preventive measures and possibilities.
