Megan Thee Stallion Net Worth: What Should We Know About the Hot Girl Summer’s Life and Wealth?
Music, like everything around us, changes. Rap music which is a very dynamic genre is no exception to this change. Rap music before was mainly dominated by men, but today, it is now very common to see female rappers like Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, and Megan Thee Stallion.
If you’re a fan of these female rappers, then it is just right that you know how one of them built their name in the rap industry. Let us take a look at how Megan Thee Stallion made a name for herself in the once male-dominated rap scene.

Early Life and Influences
Megan Thee Stallion (pronounced as “Megan The Stallion”) was born on February 15, 1995 as Megan Jovon Ruth Pete in San Antonio, Texas. She and her mother, Holly Thomas, immediately moved to Houston right after Megan Thee Stallion was born.
Growing up, Megan already had influences in rap music through her mother being a rapper herself. She performed under the name “Holly-Wood”. When she was younger, Megan was often brought to the recording studio by her mother instead of leaving her at daycare. Because of this, we can safely assume that this is where Megan got her first influences in rapping. Megan started writing lyrics when she was just 14 years old but started rapping when she was 18. However, her mother advised her to wait until she was already 21 before pursuing a career in rapping since some her of her lyrics were too sexually aggressive for her age.
Beginning of Her Career and Current Music
In 2013, Megan was a student in Prairie View A&M University when she first gained attention from the public by uploading videos of herself on social media, particularly Instagram, wherein she raps in freestyle. But what made her gain a following was when she battled against male rappers in a cypher. She continuously uploaded videos of her freestyle rapping while she was in university and that paved a way for her career.
She made her commercial debut in 2017 by releasing her Make It Hot EP. The EP’s single, “Last Week in HTx” became the most popular track in the EP and gathered several million views on YouTube. Finally, in 2018, she signed with 1501 Certified Entertainment but then transferred to 300 Entertainment in 2019. In that same year, Megan released the song “Big Ole Freak” and it entered the 99th spot in the Billboard 100, making it her first chart entry in the entirety of her career. Since then, she has released hit after hit, and even collaborated with singer-rapper Nicki Minaj for her song “Hot Girl Summer”.
Because of her fame, it is no denying that she already had a lot of collaborations. She even had a performance with K-pop sensation BTS for the remix of “Butter” which absolutely made Megan Thee Stallion more famous than she already is.
Megan Thee Stallion was also named in the 'Time 100 Next” list so she is certainly someone to look out for. Aside from being in Time’s list, Megan is no longer a newbie when it comes to awards. In the 2021 American Music Awards, she bagged home three awards, making her tie with Doja Cat and BTS.
Just very recently, Megan Thee Stallion teased that she has a new song to be released in March 2022 with English singer Dua Lipa.
Philanthropy and Megan Thee Stallion’s Net Worth Today
Knowing that Megan already has achieved a lot in her career, it would be no surprise how easy it is for her to be involved in charities and other financial causes. The rapper is also a philanthropist and her, along with her fans, most recent contribution to the community is a $120,000 donation to three different organizations. As of today, she has already spent nearly $5 million in charity work.
Since Megan obviously has the heart and the capacity to give to others, it would not come as a shock that Megan Thee Stallion has a net worth of $8 million!
Let us just hope that Megan continues her good deeds while she releases her awesomely good music.
