‘Legacies’ Returns to Netflix With a New Season—Details, Release Date, and More!

Hope Mikaelson, born into a prestigious supernatural bloodline, enrolls at a prestigious private school to develop her abilities and restrain her evil tendencies.

Hope Mikaelson is the child of Klaus Mikaelson and Hayley Marshall. She came from one of the strongest bloodlines of witches, werewolves, and vampires. Hope, a 17-year-old student at the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted, enters the school two years after the events of The Originals. Supernatural creatures can learn to manage their skills and urges at the school, which offers a safe sanctuary.

‘Legacies’ features  characters from The Originals and The Vampire Diaries. ‘Legacies’ is a spin-off of the said series. In The Originals' fifth and final season, Danielle Rose Russell played the 17-year-old Hope Mikaelson in the lead role. As Alaric Saltzman from The Vampire Diaries, Matt Davis also plays a significant part in the show.

On January 21, 2021, the third season officially began. The CW renewed the show in February 2021 for the fourth season, which debuted on October 14, 2021. It was revealed that the fourth season would be the show's last in May 2022. Now, the final season of the series is set to release on Netflix.

‘Legacies’ features characters from the series The Vampire Diaries and The Originals. The following are some of the main cast of the series:

• Hope Mikaelson, played by Danielle Rose Russell, is a young orphan attending Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. She is the first Tribrid, descended from some of the most potent vampires, werewolves, and witch lineages through her parents, Klaus Mikaelson and Hayley Marshall. The Originals served as the character's debut.

• Aria Shahghasemi plays Landon Kirby, Rafael's foster brother, and Hope's friend and romantic interest. Landon is also a Salvatore school student and becomes Hope's boyfriend over time. He is initially assumed to be a human. Still, when vampire powers do not have the same compulsion-like effect on him, it is hypothesized that he is a supernatural person. Later, it is discovered that he is a phoenix. Season 5 of The Originals was when the character debuted.

• Josie Saltzman, played by Kaylee Bryant in seasons 1-4, is a witch and a scholar at the Salvatore School. Her name comes from her biological mother, Josette 'Jo' Laughlin of the formidable Gemini coven. She is Alaric's 15-year-old daughter and Lizzie's twin. Josie lacks confidence and is obedient to her sister, Lizzie. Midway through season 4, Bryant leaves the school. The character debuted as a newborn and toddler in The Vampire Diaries and as a young teen in The Originals.

• Lizzie Saltzman, played by Jenny Boyd, is a witch attending Salvatore School. She is Josie, Alaric's 15-year-old daughter, and was given the name Elizabeth Forbes in honor of Caroline Forbes, the twins' surrogate mother, who passed away. Narcissistic and prone to emotional outbursts, Lizzie. The character was initially presented as a newborn and toddler in The Vampire Diaries and subsequently as a young adolescent in The Originals.

‘Legacies’ is set to release its fourth season on Netflix this Friday, June 24, 2022.
