Yeşilçam Star Esen Püsküllü Of "Ah Müjgan Ah" Appears In New Photos
Esen Püsküllü, one of the beloved stars of Turkish cinema's Yeşilçam era in the 1960s and 1970s, has been living away from the spotlight for a long time. Remembered for Ah Müjgan Ah, in which she shared the lead with Sadri Alışık, she is back in the conversation thanks to recently surfaced photos. Here is a look at her film career and the reaction to the new pictures.
Esen Püsküllü entered cinema through a magazine contest.
Born in Istanbul on 16 July 1946, Esen Püsküllü opened the door to the film world by reaching the final of a contest run by one of the popular magazines of the day. She soon became one of the faces producers were looking for.
Over her career she appeared in 74 films, sharing the lead in 27 of them.
Ah Müjgan Ah with Sadri Alışık is the film she is best remembered for.
Esen Püsküllü worked with well-known leading men of the period, including Sadri Alışık, Cüneyt Arkın, Fikret Hakan and Erol Büyükburç. Her on-screen rapport with Sadri Alışık in Ah Müjgan Ah earned her a place in Turkish film history.
Before leaving cinema in the 1980s, she also turned to screenwriting: in 1975 her name appeared on the scripts of Bak Yeşil Yeşil and Küçük Bey.
Recent photos of Esen Püsküllü, who has long led a quiet life, have become a talking point.
The new photos drew attention, though where and when they were taken has not been stated. Fans who saw them called her 'the noble beauty of Yeşilçam', while others commented, 'The years have not touched her.'
Esen Püsküllü married director Yücel Uçanoğlu in 1966. She lost him in 2023 and has two children from the marriage.
