With a budget of $22 million and shot on location in France, including the grandeur of Versailles, 'Jeanne du Barry' made a significant impact at the Cannes Film Festival. It became the most successful Cannes opening-night film in France in a decade, garnering 401,481 admissions (equivalent to $2.56 million U.S.) in its first week. French distributor Le Pacte reported its box office success, and the film went on to gross $5.8 million in France, with a global total reaching $13.6 million.
