Hulu is one of the streaming platforms going overboard in ensuring its fans get the best of the best. The streamer has landed with another accomplishment for summer, Santa Evita, dropping on Tuesday, July 26th.
The seven-episode series chronicles Eva Perón’s, Argentine First Lady's strange and powerful story of what happened to her body after she died from cancer in 1952.
Who is Eva Perón
Perón was one of the prominent ladies internationally after fame came her way. Several productions have been made in her memoir, including 1996’s Evita, by Andrew L. Webber.
She has since become a female star over the last 100 years, with several books penned telling the story of her life better than her death.
‘Santa Evita’ Synopsis
Grounded on Tomás E. Martínez’s Award-winning novel, Santa Evita follows the tale of a coup that overthrew President J.D. Perón and concealed Evita’s body for close to 16 years to hinder it from becoming a monument.
Before meeting her demise, Eva was an influential political figure as a President’s wife. Her unsettled unburied dead body haunted the nation’s political arena for about twenty years.

The miniseries presents talented characters with Natalia Oriero, Ernesto Alterio, Diego Velázquez, Francesc Orella, and Darío Grandinetti as Eva Perón, Colonel Moori Koenig, Mariano, Doctor Pedro Ara, and Juan D. Perón, respectively.
Other characters include Diego Cremonesi, Damián Canduci, Guillermo Arengo, Jenni Merla, Gaby Ferrero, Ernesto Alterio, and many more.
Filming and Showrunners
Santa Evita was shot in over forty Buenos Aires (Argentina) locations, with above 1300 background characters plus 120 actors. Detailed historical reconstructions, sets, and costumes were innovated and made by a massive squad of local creative experts.
The series is co-produced and developed by Non-Stop with Salma Hayek, a Mexican actress chief producing alongside José Tamez. Rodrigo García serves as the series director and chief producer, with Alejandro Maci, an Argentine filmmaker, as the artistic producer. Pamela Rementería and Marcela Guerty penned the script.
