Korean superstar Gong Yoo stars in the newest hit sci-fi series ‘The Silent Sea’ and is currently raking millions of views on the streaming platform today.
Gong Yoo is best known for his roles in the television dramas Coffee Prince, ‘Guardian: The Lonely and Great God’ and ‘Squid Game’ and the movies ‘Train To Busan’ and ‘The Age Of Shadows’.
What is ‘The Silent Sea’ All About
The story is about the scarcity of water on the earth and searching for hope and answers on other planets.
Captain Han Yun-Jae (Gong Yoo) and his team were put on a mission to the deserted Balhae Station on the moon to retrieve a valuable sample from an abandoned research facility and investigate the death of the first team that was sent there five years ago.
Along with them is Dr. Song Ji-an (Bae Doona), an astrobiologist whose sister died in the Balhae accident. She wants to know what happened to her sister, and find out what’s behind the message she received before her death telling her to 'Find Luna'.
Amongst the crew members, only two doctors and a child survived. Even Han, who seems so close to surviving, sacrifices himself in the final moments so that the others can escape with Luna.

The series is an adaptation of the 2014 short film The Sea of Tranquility written and directed by Choi Hang-Yong who also directs the series. The Silent Sea Series 1 has 8 episodes but there’s more to reveal so expect more intense and exciting scenes in Season 2.
The ‘Silent Sea’ has won the hearts of meticulous critics. In fact, Rotten Tomatoes, an American review-aggregation website for film and television, scores 100% on this movie.
