FIFA Rejects Palestinian Proposal to Ban Israel From International Football Competitions
FIFA has reviewed the application submitted by the Palestinian Football Federation and has decided that Israel will not be banned from football competitions. According to the statement, no steps will be taken towards barring Israel from football events.
FIFA deemed the sanction to be inappropriate.
FIFA has stated that the issue of the West Bank is a complex and challenging matter from an international law perspective, and therefore, it would not be appropriate to impose direct sanctions under the current regulations.
The organization prioritizes the maintenance of dialogue between the Palestinian Football Federation and the Israeli Football Federation. The statement emphasized that mediation will be conducted between the two federations and that the process will be closely monitored.
Russia had been banned within a matter of days.
Following Russia's military action against Ukraine, UEFA, FIFA, and numerous international organizations and communities swiftly banned Russia from their events.
The public expectation was that the sanctions imposed on Russia would also apply to Israel.

The Palestine Football Federation had previously disclosed that since October 7, 2023, Israel had slain 1007 athletes.
A campaign, led primarily by Celtic and numerous Irish clubs and fan groups, had managed to reach the ears of FIFA. However, with the decision taken today, the possibility of Israel being 'banned' has been eliminated.
