Life abroad often appears flawless on social media; the cafes, libraries, streets... However, the reality behind the scenes might not be as glamorous as people might think. A content creator who moved to Canada shared that the social life was not what he had anticipated. The video he shared quickly went viral, and the three 'Canadian truths' he revealed left viewers in surprise.

The first issue that caught the content creator's attention was the difficulty of forming friendships.

'Canadians are extremely polite, but they also tend to keep their distance. It's easy to strike up a conversation, but building a real connection takes time. The 'let's grab a coffee after work' culture isn't as prevalent as it is in Turkey,' he said.
Secondly, he pointed out that places in Canada can be crowded yet quiet: 'Cafes, libraries, public transport can all be packed, but people keep to themselves. There's no chatter noise, everyone is in their own world.'
Thirdly, he described how Sundays have an eerie, ghost-town-like atmosphere. 'Most stores close early on Sundays, even restaurants and cafes don't stay open late. As a result, the streets become quiet, and the city transforms into something akin to a ghost town,' he explained.
