Hilarious Horse Plays Dead to Avoid Eye Drops Until Apple Test

Horses are highly intelligent and sensitive animals. They can anticipate human behavior far better than we might expect and react accordingly. The area around a horse’s eyes is particularly delicate, so treatments involving eye drops or ointments several times a day can quickly turn into a battle for owners.

One horse owner shared a particularly hilarious example of that struggle on social media. In photos captioned, “Testing whether my horse is dead or just trying to dodge his eye treatment,” her horse put on quite a performance to avoid the medication. But when an apple was held out, he couldn’t resist—and the whole act fell apart.
