Though the comedy sitcom Complete Savages streaked our screens like a shooting star, it left quite an impact among fans, myself included.
Why Was Complete Savages Canceled?
Complete Savages aired its first and last season from September 24 2004 to June 17 2005, thereafter being canceled by ABC due to its lack of popularity with the American audience. However, some in the audience were left questioning how a funny series depicting an obnoxious family made up of five unruly boys and a single fireman dad was unexpectedly booted.
Where are the Savages Now?
Nearly two decades since the show’s debut, we ask ourselves what the cast members have been up to, given that some of them have gone MIA. Here’s what we could scrape up.
Keith Carradine (Nick Savage, the dad): You might recognize Carradine as Penny's dad in the popular comedy sitcom The Big Bang Theory. Carradine's tv career seems to be ageing like fine wine. He has featured in various films and tv shows, including Fear the Walking Dead, A Quiet Passion, Old Man and the Gun and quite recently, The Power of the Dog.
Mel Gibson
Mel Gibson (Officer Cox): Though he landed a small role in Complete Savages, Gibson has throughout the years continued to make a name for himself, starring in popular hit movies such as Mad Max: Fury Road, Daddy’s Home 2 and the upcoming Father Stu.
Vincent Ventresca
Vincent Ventresca (Uncle Jimmy Savage): Ventresca has several films and tv credits, such as Breaking Point, Answers to Nothing, Dollhouse, The Fosters, and Criminal Minds, to name a few.
Erik von Detten
Erik von Detten (Chris Savage): Long retired from acting, Detten is now a sales manager at a commodities brokerage firm.
Shau Sipos
Shau Sipos (Jack Savage): Sipos is a coming-of-age actor with promising roles in various films and tv shows such as The Vampire Diaries, Life Unexpected and Krypton.
Andrew Eiden
Andrew Eiden (Sam Savage): Not much acting for Eiden since Complete Savages. He has worked various jobs in the Art department for both films and television.
Evan Ellington
Evan Ellington (Kyle Savage): Another actor whose career is slowly creaming to the top, Ellington has landed notable roles on tv, including CSI: Miami, where he played David Caruso's estranged son Horatio Cane. He also featured in Cameron Diaz's 2009 film My Sister's Keeper.
Jason Dolley
Jason Dolley (T.J. Savage): Disney channel fans will recognize the once cute now handsome face. Dolley is a magnet for Disney content, including voicing the character Rumble in the animated movie Pixie Hollow Games.
