What was the plot of the movie "From Russia with Love"? Why was the film set in Istanbul?

'From Russia with Love' revolves around the revenge trap set up by the criminal organization SPECTRE, with the aim of assassinating James Bond and seizing a Soviet encryption device called 'Lektor'. The organization lures Bond to Istanbul by exploiting a young Soviet clerk. Despite sensing the trap, Bond accepts the mission with the objective of capturing the device.
The primary reason for the film's setting in Istanbul is the city's status as one of the most critical espionage centers between the East and the West during the Cold War era. This atmosphere, inspired by author Ian Fleming's visit to Istanbul in 1955, is further enriched by iconic locations such as the Basilica Cistern, Hagia Sophia, and Sirkeci Station, lending a unique ambiance to the film.
