Gülsoy's journey into the world of acting started at an early age, with his first stage experience at 13. After completing his primary, secondary, and high school education in Ankara, he pursued a degree in architecture from Eastern Mediterranean University, graduating in 2004. However, his heart led him back to his love for the stage during his time in Cyprus, where he performed in various plays for the Cyprus State Theatre and also delved into short film direction and acting.

His early directorial efforts include the short films 'Trio', 'Heterotopya', 'İnsan Üçleme', 'Alt Üst', 'Nar Yarası' and 'Mutlu Son'. Gülsoy's contribution to the Cypriot film industry is significant, as he is one of the founders of the Cyprus Film Association and also the project designer and director of the International Cyprus Short Film Festival. He even received training in filmmaking under a program organized by the United Nations Development Project.
