> Alex Garland’s ‘Men’ Comes To Theaters Next Week

The new A24 horror film from Alex Garland is nearly gracing a major run of theaters, and this is a very different type of film than what we have seen from Garland before. Known for his sci-fi horror films, Garland now takes on the subtly growing resurgence of folklore horror with Men, his first A24 film since his directorial debut. Here’s what you need to know about Men.

Plot of ‘Men’

To keep things mysterious, the premise simply tells us that a woman (played by Jessie Buckley) goes on a vacation alone after her husband’s death.

Cast

  • Jessie Buckley

  • Paapa Essiedu

  • Gayle Rankin

  • Rory Kinnear

Early Reviews

Still in the week before its release, Men has generated lots of positive reception. Critics are praising Garland’s style and new direction with this film, while the most notable comments are heaped onto the well-chosen cast led by Jessie Buckley. Buckley made waves this year thanks to awards nominations for her supporting role in The Lost Daughter, and she also received critical acclaim for her roles in Beast, Wild Rose, Chernobyl, and I’m Thinking of Ending Things.
