The world is on high alert for Hantavirus. News from Tristan da Cunha Island, one of the most isolated points in the South Atlantic, has sent shockwaves globally. This tiny settlement, known as 'the island at the end of the world' and only accessible by ship, has become the new epicenter for the outbreak of Hantavirus on the cruise ship MV Hondius.

The hantavirus, which has recently resurfaced on the global and Turkish agenda, poses a serious threat, particularly for those spending time in rural areas and enclosed spaces. Originating from rodents and initially presenting symptoms similar to a simple flu, this disease can carry a life-threatening risk if proper precautions are not taken. Dr. Kayhan Uğuz, a specialist in Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology, has identified those who are at risk due to the hantavirus.
