Urgent Tire Recall: Goodyear and Michelin Warn Consumers over Critical Safety Defects
Goodyear and Michelin, two of the world's largest tire manufacturers, have identified technical issues in some of their popular tire models that pose a direct threat to driving safety. In an effort to ensure the safety of drivers, both of these giant brands have announced the initiation of a large-scale recall process.
Two giant manufacturers have detected a risk: They announced the initiation of a large-scale recall process.
Goodyear and Michelin, two of the world's largest tire manufacturers, have initiated a recall process after identifying potential hazards in certain tire models. According to official statements from the companies, the products listed as risky will be replaced entirely free of charge at authorized service centers.
The first detailed warning regarding the process came from Goodyear's end. The company admitted to a manufacturing defect in some models of the Eagle F1 Supersport series, a popular choice particularly for performance vehicles. As per the statement, these specific tires can undergo structural deformation or pose a risk of tread separation when reaching high speeds. This situation, which essentially means the tire can disintegrate while the vehicle is in motion, can lead to loss of steering control and potentially pave the way for fatal accidents.
The models of tires posing a threat have been disclosed.
It was reported that the tires subject to recall were produced in 2024 and 2025. The risky Goodyear models and production codes (TIN/DOT) that drivers urgently need to check are listed as follows:
295/30ZR22 103Y Eagle F1 Supersport (TIN structure: 1L1K8 JB1R 1224)
315/30ZR22 107Y Eagle F1 Supersport (TIN structure: 1L1HA JC1R 1224)
255/35ZR20 (97Y) Eagle F1 Supersport (DOT structure: 2224, 3625, 3725)
305/30ZR21 (104Y) Eagle F1 Supersport XL (DOT structure: 2324, 3525, 3625, 3725)
Goodyear, reaching out to vehicle owners, requested that these codes found on the sidewall of the tires be examined. If a product matching the codes listed is found, they urged immediate contact with authorized dealers.
Michelin issues covert low air pressure warning.
Joining the recall frenzy is another industry leader, Michelin, which has issued a warning to its users about 'pressure loss'. A chronic air leakage problem has been detected in the Primacy 5 Energy model, which is frequently used in popular passenger car models of the brand, with the dimensions of 205/60R16 92H.
This loss of air pressure, which occurs unnoticed over time, not only shortens the lifespan of the tire but also poses a significant risk by reducing road grip to zero during sudden braking and cornering.
