A scene in one episode of the series, depicting a delegation from the Yarkand Khanate, established in 1514, visiting Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror, who ruled from 1451 to 1481, sparked controversy. Statements made by Ali Shir Nava'i, who was featured in the series as the spokesperson of the delegation, about China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, stirred up reactions in China. Uyghur Turk Mahmut Yakup, who resides in the Uygur Autonomous Region, authorized the China Law Office, alleging that the scene in which Ali Shir Nava'i meets with Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror as a spokesperson of a delegation from the Yarkand Khanate contained fictional information, misleading the public's perception of history. He claimed that the series, which is informed to be inspired by history, used statements that were false, derogatory, and insulting about the community he belongs to and the Chinese people.

A legal notice was sent by the office to TRT General Director Muhammed Ziyad Varol, TRT General Directorate, Miray Production, the film's producer Eyüp Gökhan Özekin, and screenwriter Ozan Bodur.

The scene that led to a notice being issued from China with a 30-day deadline became a hot topic on social media.

There has yet to be any statement from either TRT or the production side of the series.
