Dr. Kudret Sezgin, the Coordinating Excavation Director of Limyra, shared details about the discovery. He explained, 'We have located a temple structure that, although known from epigraphic sources since 1982, its exact location has remained elusive for years. Through archaeological evidence, we concluded that it is a Zeus Temple built in the classical period. We are well aware from written sources that Zeus was the chief deity of the city during the Hellenistic and Roman Empire periods. It was known that there was a temple, but its whereabouts were unknown.'
