‘Sweet Life: Los Angeles’ Season Two Acquires an HBO Max Premiere Date

Yes! Your beloved Sweet Life: Los Angeles will return to your T.V. screen for another instalment.

HBO Max has aired all the episodes from season one, completed on September 9th, 2021, and renewed the series for a second instalment in October of the same year. 

The series’ official Instagram account also confirmed the renewal news, stating, “Your life keeps getting sweeter.” According to Deadline, Jennifer O’Connell of HBO Max said, “We are delighted with the success of Sweet Life: Los Angeles. 

The impressively talented Issa Rae and her producing team perfectly delivered an elevated, purposeful show, featuring the fun, challenging, and inspiring moments that young adults encounter while navigating careers and relationships.

Rebecca Quinn from the same platform added, “Fans love this ambitious, entertaining, and endearing group of friends. We are eager to see what they have for us in season two as they keep shining a crucial light on South Los Angeles’ Black culture.”

HBO Max has confirmed that Sweet Life: Los Angeles will land on our screens on Thursday, August 4th. Four episodes will land on the launch date, followed by a weekly release until August 18th, when the season will complete.

The series was inspired by Baldwin Hills, a BET reality T.V. show and Frank Ocean’s song of the same title. It revolves around a group of close young African-American friends as they navigate their lives in South L.A. They are supportive of each other and connected by their shared dreams to pursue their aspirations. 

The second instalment, which carried ten episodes, is anticipated to follow the essential launch like its predecessor. The coming-of-age show will explore love, legacy, and loyalty.

P’Jae Compton, Jerrold Smith II, Cheryl D. Vignes, Amanda Scott, Brianna Jones, and Tylynn Burns are returning from the first season. 

Season one’s Jordan Bentley will not appear in this instalment. The supporting cast includes Kofi Jones, Jalylenn Hart, Rob Lee, and Rebecca Magett.

Sweet Life: Los Angeles is a Morning Dew Pictures, All3Media America Company, Main Event Media, and HOORAE production, while Leola Westbrook, Sheri Maroufkhani, Jimmy Fox, Montrel McKay, and Issa Rae chief produce alongside Pyongson Yim and Rajah Ahmed as the co-chief producers. Ashley Calloway and Sara Rastogi serve as the producers.
