The extreme heatwave that has been wreaking havoc on thermometers across Europe has now set its course for Turkey. Professor Dr. Orhan Şen, a meteorology expert, warned of potentially distressing times ahead due to the dangerous heat, stating the specific dates to be wary of. Orhan Şen elaborated, 'This omega blockage dissipates in August and September and heads our way. It seems these months might prove to be somewhat challenging for us.'

Discussing the upcoming weather conditions, Orhan Şen announced that a new heatwave is heading towards Turkey. He noted that temperatures will rise towards the end of July, and warned that August and September could be challenging in terms of heat. Şen stated that both the oppressive heat and sudden, extreme rainfall could reach annoying levels during this period, underlining the seriousness of the situation with his words, 'We could get annoyed.'

Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen said the following:

'In Istanbul, the temperature has risen to 33-34 degrees, but we haven't seen temperatures above 35 degrees, which we refer to as a heatwave. In August and September, this omega blockage will be lifted and it will come over us. These months might be a bit troublesome for us.'

Anatolia is sweltering: "These temperatures didn't exist 30 years ago."

In other regions of the country, temperatures are significantly above the seasonal norms. Prof. Dr. Şen, who pointed out that temperatures in the Inner Aegean and Southeastern Anatolia Region are a full 5 degrees above the average, stated, 'In Aydın, the temperature has reached 40 degrees. In Şanlıurfa and Diyarbakır, temperatures are heading towards 45 degrees. In the western part of Eastern Anatolia, in areas around Malatya, Elazığ, Tunceli and Muş, it has risen above 35 degrees. These temperatures are the seasonal norms, but we wouldn't have found these temperatures in those regions 30 years ago. We are seeing these temperatures in these regions due to global warming.'

In Istanbul, rainfall will be significant on Tuesday and Friday.

Orhan Şen, who issued a rainfall warning for Istanbul, noted that the weather will cool down.

Orhan Şen, drawing attention to the days of Tuesday, July 14, and Friday, July 17, concluded his remarks as follows:

'It won't be a heavy rain and it's not the kind that would cause any flooding, but every time it rains, the temperature drops by 12 degrees. However, since the temperature is 2 degrees above the seasonal average, it will be a normal situation.'
