Although many building owners are initially hesitant about green roofs due to the cost of installation, life cycle analyses spanning 50 years completely shatter this perception.
Green roofs do more than just reduce energy bills; they offer a significantly longer lifespan compared to traditional roofs. When viewed on a per square meter basis, they provide building occupants with direct cash savings of $0.15-0.57 per year for cooling and $0.18 per year for heating. This translates to thousands of dollars in savings in the long run.
