Peacock’s ‘Poker Face’ Starring Natasha Lyonne Reveals Possibility of Reading into People’s Intentions

Are you a fan of digging deeper into mysterious murders with a touch of comedy and drama? Peacock got your heart desires sorted this January with the first season of Poker Face, an American murder-mystery and comedy-drama series created by Rian Johnson. 

The streaming platform announced the show in March 2021 with Natasha Lyonne and Rian Johnson as the directors. 

Poker Face started filming from April to October 2022 in Newburgh, New York, and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Poker Face will bring different murder mysteries of the week, with probably each of the ten episodes airing a different story. The show will focus on Charlie Cale as she sails around in her pony car and examines various crimes while meeting new characters. 

What differentiates Charlie from the other investigators is that she has an incredible power that can detect when someone is lying. Charlie’s unique ability lands her in funny problems as she unknowingly solves crimes during her journey.

Peacock shared the official trailer for Poker Face a week ago, which has already gained 4 million views. 

The trailer lasts 2 minutes and 12 seconds, introducing Charlie Cale’s lie-detection ability as impossible as it sounds. It glimpses various problems that Cale undergoes as she continues to investigate different crimes.

Rian Johnson created Poker Face and serves as a chief producer alongside Lilla Zuckerman, Nora Zuckerman, Nena Rodrigue, Natasha Lyonne, and Ram Bergman. 

MRC Television, Animal Pictures, and T-Street Productions are the production companies behind the series.

Season one of Poker Face introduces various talented American actors such as Natasha Lyonne (Charlie Cale), Megan Suri, Brandon M. Hall, Adrien Brody, Stephanie Hsu, Nick Nolte, Tim B. Nelson, Hong Chau, and Lil Rel Howery. 

The supporting actors are Charles Melton, Simon Helberg, Audrey Corsa, Clea DuVall, Angel Desai, and Leslie Shiva.

Poker Face season one will premiere as a Peacock original on Thursday, January 26, 2023, with the first four episodes followed by weekly releases for the remaining six.
