Macchio and Zabka shared about their almost 30-year-old friendship with PEOPLE last year. Macchio, 61, stated, “For Willy and I, the extent of our friendship and our history together has gone beyond, just like the show has. Take the nostalgia and the source material of what The Karate Kid universe has created and then define it in a whole new way, never losing sight of what it is.'
For Zabka, 57, working with Macchio has been an honor and coming back together to revisit their old characters has been a full-circle experience for both of them.
He told PEOPLE, 'We've both had lives since The Karate Kid. We've had families and careers. We're now grown men who get what's going on, and it's truly exciting.'
When Will ‘Cobra Kai’ Season 6 Premiere?
Though Netflix hasn’t revealed Cobra Kai season six’s debut date yet, it teases that it’ll be the 'biggest and baddest' season of them all.
