‘Formula 1: Drive to Survive’ Season Five Joins Netflix’s February Premiere List

All Formula One fans gather around for the most fantastic news- Formula 1: Drive to Survive will soon be launching its fifth season on Netflix. The series is a documentary drama made through a partnership between Formula One and Netflix. 

In March 2018, Netflix entered a partnership with Formula One, commissioning a ten-episode documentary series. Formula 1: Drive to Survive gradually launched various seasons on Netflix until May 2022, when the streamer renewed the show for the fifth and sixth seasons.

The documentary series has been performing excellently, with 8.6/10 stars on IMDb and a 64% average audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. 

Season five will premiere ahead of the most awaited 2023 World Championship and the motor racing event, Bahrain Grand Pix.

The past four seasons of Formula 1: Drive to Survive has focused on various Formula One World Championships ranging from 2018 to 2021. 

The upcoming fifth season will tackle the 2022’s Championship, offering the fans backstage moments of the race and drivers at the event. 

It will also present interviews with drivers who share their experiences at the Championship.

Netflix shared the first look clip for the upcoming season of Formula 1: Drive to Survive via its YouTube Channel. 

The 42-second clip glances at drivers preparing for the 2022 Formula One World Championship as Max confirms he will be fully available in the season.

Formula 1: Drive to Survive is a co-production of Netflix and Formula One alongside Box to Box Films and chief producers Sophie Todd, Paul Martin, and James Gay-Rees. 

Max Verstappen, a Belgian-Ditch racing driver, confirmed his participation in the upcoming season.

The fifth season of Formula 1: Drive to Survive premieres exclusively on Netflix on Friday, February 24, 2023, with most likely ten episodes as witnessed in the previous seasons. 

The verified Formula 1 Twitter page shared the premiere date and images from the upcoming season. Season five appears promising, as illustrated in a video clip posted by the above Twitter account.
