‘Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl’: Everything to Know About the Disney+ Musical Special

Do you remember the popular animated Disney+ film Encanto that shocked the world with its incredible performance? Well, the streaming platform decided to bring back memories in the form of a special live-to-film project introducing the iconic Lin-Manuel Miranda, Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl. 

Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl is a special extension film from the famous animation musical Encanto. The mother film gained incredible worldwide scores of 75% on Metacritic, 7.2/10 stars on IMDb, and a 93% audience score. No wonder it was extended into a special project.

Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl brings back the original casts of Encanto reuniting at the Hollywood Bowl for a semi-live and film concert featuring several musical tracks. 

The upcoming project will feature some amazing special effects, 50 dancers, 80 orchestras, and songs from Walt Disney Studios’ Encanto. 

Disney Plus unveiled the official trailer for Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl nearly a week ago to provide more descriptions. Although not so long (46 seconds), the trailer serves the purpose of introducing all the original casts of Encanto on one stage for the first time. 

Fans should expect classic performances from Latin Grammy Award-winning artist Andrés Cepeda and the famous Carlos Vives, not forgetting Lin-Manuel Miranda’s special appearance.

Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl is directed by Chris Howe, with Kai Martinez and Jamal Sims on the choreography, while Lin-Manuel Miranda is in the music department. 

Disney+ is the main distributor, alongside Fullwell 73 as the Production Company behind the film’s success.

As highlighted earlier, fans should expect to see nearly all the original casts of Encanto in the upcoming Disney+ special, including Stephanie Beatriz (Mirabel), Diane Guerrero (Isabela), Jessica Darrow (Luisa), Mauro Castillo (Félix), Carolina Gaitán (Pepa), and Olga Merediz (Abuela Alma). 

Other faces include Adassa (Dolores) and Angie Cepeda (Julieta), among other special guests.

Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl will launch exclusively on Disney+ on Wednesday, December 28th 2022.
