Piers Morgan's Remarks
Appearing on ITV's Lorraine, Piers Morgan shared insights from his interview with Harvey. He criticized Netflix, stating, 'Netflix failed to protect Fiona Harvey's identity adequately. Now, she is considering legal action against them. The real issue is whether she was defamed. Accusing someone of being a convicted stalker when they are not is a serious mistake.'
Morgan also mentioned the challenges he faced after deciding to interview Harvey on his YouTube channel. 'My show garnered 11 million views on YouTube. People accused me of exploiting a vulnerable individual for views. However, I don't regret featuring Harvey on the program,' he said.
Financial Demands and Legal Actions
Reports suggest that Harvey was offered £250 for the interview, but she is now demanding £1 million from Morgan's team. Morgan has firmly stated that she will not receive this amount. According to Deadline, Harvey is also seeking £1 million from Netflix. Speaking to The Daily Record, Harvey declared, 'If I can't get the show taken down and if they don't pay me the money (which is £1 million), politicians will shut the show down.'
