The Shiziyang Grand Bridge stands tall over the Pearl River Estuary, serving as the linchpin of a vast transportation network. The bridge is intended to forge a connection between the settlements in Guangzhou's Nansha district and those in Dongguan.

The project employs a two-tier road system. Designed with a total of 16 lanes, the bridge aims to alleviate the heavy traffic in the region and expedite intercity transportation.

The main towers of the bridge have reached a staggering height of 342 meters. This translates to a colossal height equivalent to a 110-story building. The main span is projected to be 2,180 meters long.

It is anticipated that 5 world records will be shattered.

Upon its completion, the Shiziyang Grand Bridge is anticipated to shatter world records in five distinct categories among double-deck suspension bridges. These categories include the length of the main span, the number of lanes, the height of the main tower, the diameter of the anchor, and the diameter of the main cable.

However, the project is not merely about the bridge itself. As part of a larger, approximately 35-kilometer connection line, the structure aims to expedite transportation between Guangzhou and Dongguan. This connection is expected to boost intercity mobility within the economic region known as the Greater Bay Area. The bridge is projected to be completed by the year 2029.
