Woman Shares Hospital Evacuation Moments After Panama Quake Hits Hours After Childbirth
Central America was rocked by a series of earthquakes. A powerful quake that struck Panama on October 9 caused damage across numerous areas, forcing the evacuation of several hospitals. Aftershocks that followed in the hours after the main tremor kept people who had fled their buildings on edge throughout the day.
A content creator known as “isabellaeisenmann” shared footage of the moment she was caught in a magnitude 7.7 earthquake just three hours after giving birth. Evacuated outside on her hospital bed, the new mother said she and her baby were safe and well after being evacuated three times that day.

Peki, Panama'daki deprem sırasında ne oldu?
The earthquake that struck Panama on Friday, October 9, was felt across much of the country. In its aftermath, several countries issued possible tsunami warnings, while aftershocks continued throughout the day. As the video shows, two more tremors followed: a magnitude 6.9 quake in the afternoon and a 6.2 tremor that night.
Hospitals were among the hardest-hit sites. Patients and healthcare workers were evacuated from many facilities, and medical care continued outdoors and in tents. Pregnant women and those needing emergency treatment were given priority.
The woman who shared the video once again underscored the severity of the situation. After giving birth, a mother is typically kept under observation as the anesthesia wears off and medical staff monitor her blood pressure, pulse, and bleeding. Feeling in her legs usually returns within a few hours, and short walks are recommended during the first 24 hours. Being evacuated in her bed so soon after giving birth was therefore a major ordeal for both her and the medical teams. Amid the chaos, her reassurance that they were doing well also came as a great relief to viewers.
