These days, our focus is on the best chefs in Turkey. We conducted a survey recently, gathering votes to determine not only the best chefs in Turkey, but also those who stand out globally. Thousands of people participated in our survey and the results are now in.
In Turkey, Chef Ömür Akkor took the lead by a significant margin, securing 18% of the votes. On the global stage, the name that outshone all other chefs was Gordon Ramsay.

Our poll, in which thousands of people cast their votes, has concluded and Turkey's top chef has been determined. Ömür Akkor emerged as the winner, amassing 18% of the votes. The closest competitor to Ömür Akkor was Arda Türkmen, who garnered a vote percentage of 17%.
Prominent names from Turkey such as Somer Sivrioğlu, Mehmet Yalçınkaya, Fatih Tutak, and Osman Sezener were featured in the selection. Moreover, our chefs who have made a name for themselves in the media also secured their place among the best with high vote percentages.
Gordon Ramsay was chosen as the world's best chef.
Gordon Ramsay successfully garnered 39% of the votes in his category. Hot on his heels in second place was Jamie Oliver, who managed to secure 13% of the votes. This list also featured legendary names such as Wolfgang Puck, Alain Ducasse, and Massimo Bottura.
Gordon Ramsay is among the most recognized chefs worldwide. Ramsay boasts a total of 16 Michelin stars. The renowned chef is particularly known for his candidness, fiery temper, and ruthless demeanor on the television shows he participates in. Moreover, Ramsay was listed as the 33rd highest-earning celebrity in the world on Forbes' 2018 list.

Chef Ömür Akkor introduces himself as the 'Chef of the Braves.' Akkor, who carries the legacy of flavor into the future, has traversed Anatolia inch by inch, brought long-forgotten recipes and culinary techniques back into the light, and took significant steps to pass them on to future generations.
Born in Kilis in 1975, Ömür Akkor graduated from the Economics department of Uludağ University in Bursa. After his education, he spent five years documenting the dishes in the towns and villages of Bursa. He also served as a chef in the excavation workshop team in Alacahöyük, bringing 4000-year-old historical dishes back to life.
Chef Ömür Akkor is tirelessly conducting studies on Turkish cuisine, traveling through all 81 provinces for his '250,000 km for Turkish Cuisine' project. Akkor, who has unearthed the hidden treasures of Turkish cuisine, has written 26 books and more than 200 articles on both Anatolia and Turkish cuisine to date.
Some of these books have been awarded the Gastronomy Award at the Presidential Culture and Arts Grand Awards. The books written by Akkor were selected as the best in the world in different categories by the Gourmand Cookbook Awards.
At the Gourmand Cookbook Awards, considered the Nobel of cookbooks, he won the 'Best Culinary History Book in the World' award with his work titled 'Seljuk Cuisine'.
Food researcher and traveler Ömür Akkor is also the founding chef of the restaurant named Zennup 1884. Zennup 1884, which has branches in Bursa and Istanbul, is named after Ömür Akkor's grandmother.
