Wealth Map Shifts in Europe: Turkey Ranks Second in Ultra-Wealthy Population Growth
The wealth map across Europe is undergoing a transformation. The 2026 Wealth Report, published by Knight Frank, revealed a 26% growth in the ultra-wealthy population on the continent over the past five years. Turkey, with a striking 94% increase in its ultra-wealthy count, has been maintaining a strong pursuit at the summit in Europe during this period.
Where do the ultra-wealthy reside? The country with the highest population of individuals boasting a fortune of at least 30 million dollars has been revealed.
The 2026 Wealth Report has been published. According to the report, the proportion of individuals in Europe with a net worth of at least 30 million dollars was revealed. The ultra-wealthy population has seen a 26 percent increase over the past five years.
According to the report's data, approximately 25.8 percent of the over 710,000 ultra-wealthy individuals worldwide reside in Europe. The number of wealthy individuals, which was 146,525 in 2021, reached 183,953 by 2026.
Looking at the absolute numbers on a country-by-country basis, the leadership has not changed:
Germany: 38,215 individuals
United Kingdom: 27,876 individuals
France: 21,528 individuals
Turkey: 4,208 individuals
The number of 'ultra-rich' individuals residing in Turkey has been revealed.
Although Germany is leading in terms of numbers, when it comes to growth rate, Eastern Europe and Turkey are stealing the show. With a growth rate of 109%, Poland holds the top spot, followed by Turkey with 94%, and Romania securing the third place with 93%.
According to the report, Turkey is home to 4,208 ultra-wealthy individuals. Between the years 2021 and 2026, an additional 2,034 people in Turkey have made their way onto the 'ultra-rich' list.
