Born in Turkey, Aslıhan Moralı outshone 35 contestants to claim the crown at the Miss Universe Canada 2026 finals held on August 8.
However, the story of 28-year-old Moralı is not confined to her success in beauty pageants.
Aslıhan Moralı, who was born in Edremit, Turkey, spent her early years in Edremit and Antalya. Life wasn't exactly a bed of roses for Moralı when she immigrated to Canada with her family at the tender age of 6. The family, who settled in Ontario, had to grapple with financial hardships, even resorting to food banks for support at one point.
Raised by her mother, Moralı started working from a young age. She held various jobs, ranging from retail to the textile cleaning industry, while simultaneously pursuing her education.
Aslıhan Moralı, who studied health management at Mohawk College, served at McMaster Children's Hospital for approximately six years after graduation.
It's noteworthy that Aslıhan Moralı, who left Turkey at the age of 6, was chosen years later to represent Canada on a global scale.

The world of beauty pageants is no stranger to Aslihan Morali. In fact, her grand victory in 2026 was the result of a steady struggle that spanned several years.
Morali first made her mark in 2023, when she competed in Miss Universe Canada and managed to rise to the top 10. Although she did not clinch the crown that year, she did not turn her back on the world of pageantry.
She later secured the title of Miss Supranational Canada and represented Canada on the international stage. While she didn't win the main crown in the international competition, she distinguished herself through her personality and communication with other contestants, earning the Miss Congeniality award.
When the calendar turned to 2026, Morali once again took to the Miss Universe Canada stage.
The event, held at the Chrysler Theatre in Windsor, Ontario, saw a total of 35 finalists from different regions of Canada compete. Contestants faced the jury in various stages, including swimsuit, evening gown, and interview.
Aslihan Morali, who advanced to the finals, this time completed her mission by winning the crown.
On the night of August 8, Morali was chosen as Miss Universe Canada 2026, becoming Canada's new beauty queen out of 35 candidates.
Now, an even bigger stage awaits Aslihan Morali. The Turkish-Canadian beauty will represent Canada in the 75th Miss Universe competition to be held in Puerto Rico in November 2026.
