Gold continues to hold a strong position in the market. Signals of interest rate cuts from global central banks, risks of war, and geopolitical uncertainties are all fueling interest in gold. Gold can be purchased and sold physically in jewelry stores or in a non-physical form through banks. Starting from 2022, it began to be traded on the Istanbul Stock Exchange in certificate form.
Recently, the price of the GOLD S1 certificate has exceeded that of gram gold prices.
How much does the GOLD S1 certificate cost, and what's its current market value?
The market is currently flooded with 500 million certificates. A rapidly increasing demand for gold certificates has consequently driven up their prices. Each 100-unit ALTIN S1 certificate equates to 1 gram of gold. While the price of a gram of gold hovers around 5,900 TL, the market value of 100 ALTIN S1 certificates has approached 8,500 TL. The disparity between ALTIN S1 and a gram of gold has escalated up to 45%.
ALTIN S1 certificates are traded on the stock exchange, and investors can buy and sell through accounts they open via brokerage firms.
