Taşacak Bu Deniz Stays on Top as 6 Series Skip a Week: Turkish TV Ratings for Oct 26-Nov 1
In the week of October 26-November 1, six Turkish series did not air a new episode, and the Total ratings ranking of the 16 shows that did is now out. On Friday night, when Kızılcık Şerbeti aired a rerun, Taşacak Bu Deniz climbed to 11.52 and widened its lead over the runner-up to more than 3 points. Monday night's two rivals went in opposite directions: Uzak Şehir rose to 2nd place, while Altı Üstü İstanbul dropped from 3rd to 8th.
Altı Üstü İstanbul lost 1.43 points and dropped from 3rd to 8th, while its rival Uzak Şehir climbed to 2nd.
ATV's Altı Üstü İstanbul was the week's biggest loser. With its 18th episode, the series lost 1.43 points, fell to 6.04 in Total and slipped from 3rd place last week to 8th.
Its same-night rival went the other way. Kanal D's Uzak Şehir, which trailed Altı Üstü İstanbul by just 0.02 points last week, gained 1.06 points with its 70th episode, reaching 8.51 and moving up from 4th to 2nd.
The gap between the two shows thus widened to 2.47 points in a single week. This happened on a Monday night when the Fenerbahçe-Galatasaray derby was played.
Of the 5 series that lost ground, 3 aired on Monday and 2 on Tuesday.
Altı Üstü İstanbul was not the only Monday show to slip. NOW's Sevdam Karadeniz lost 0.59 points with its 3rd episode, dropping to 1.25 and staying at the bottom of the list. The series wrapped up early with its 4th episode, which aired on November 2.
TRT 1's Evlilik Güzeldir, airing the same night, dipped 0.09 points to 2.05 and ranked 15th.
On Tuesday, Star TV's Tuzlu Kahve lost 0.50 points, falling to 4.20 and from 11th to 13th. TRT 1's Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı also dipped 0.12 points to 3.65, but with six series off the list, it still rose from 18th to 14th.
Taşacak Bu Deniz stayed on top with 11.52, opening a lead of more than 3 points over its closest rival.
TRT 1's Taşacak Bu Deniz, starring Deniz Baysal and Ulaş Tuna Astepe, scored 11.52 in Total with its 36th episode, which aired on Friday, October 30. The series gained 1.71 points from the previous week and was the only show on the list above the 10 mark.
Kızılcık Şerbeti airing a rerun instead of a new episode on Friday made things easier for the TRT 1 drama. The lead at the top also grew: last week Taşacak Bu Deniz was 2.13 points ahead of Yeraltı, and this week it finished 3.01 points ahead of runner-up Uzak Şehir.
Uzak Şehir (8.51), Yeraltı (8.34), Sevdan Bir Ateş (7.89) and Daha 17 (7.21) completed the top five. Wednesday night's two series went different ways: Yeraltı gained 0.66 points yet slipped one spot, while Sevdan Bir Ateş rose from 6th to 4th with a 1.15-point increase.
Güneşin Doğduğu Yer gained 1.97 points and jumped from 13th to 7th.
The week's biggest riser was ATV's Güneşin Doğduğu Yer, which scored 6.46 in Total with its 7th episode. On Thursday night, new episodes of Muhtemel Aşk, Halef: Köklerin Çağrısı and Sevdiğim Sensin were cancelled, leaving the series with fewer rivals.
A similar picture emerged on Saturday. With Başkalarının Hayatı and Güller ve Günahlar off the air, Gönül Dağı gained 0.44 points with its 229th episode, rising from 16th to 12th with 4.55.
On Tuesday, NOW's Anne Yarısı rose 1.41 points to 6.00, climbing from 12th to 9th. Kanal D's Haysiyet also gained 0.52 points the same night, scoring 4.67.
