Star Footballer Earning Millions Takes Public Bus in Istanbul
Alexander Nübel, the German goalkeeper of Beşiktaş, made striking remarks about his new life in Istanbul and the transfer process in a candid interview for the September issue of Beşiktaş Magazine. The star goalkeeper, who stands out not only with his performance on the field but also with his humble life off the field, expressed his great pleasure in exploring Istanbul like an ordinary citizen.
Nubel, who spoke highly of the atmosphere at Tupras Stadium, emphasized the support of the fans.
The German goalkeeper, who is living one of his childhood dreams, stated, 'Our fans stand behind us and support us throughout the entire 90 minutes. When you dream of becoming a football player as a child, you are actually also dreaming of playing in such atmospheres. Now, I too have the opportunity to play in such an environment.'
The seasoned goalkeeper, who quickly adapted to the culture of Istanbul and explored the city on his own, shared his experiences with public transportation in these words:
'I'm wandering around Beşiktaş, venturing into different places. I visited a beach in Kilyos, hopped on a ferry, purchased an Istanbulkart, and even took an IETT bus to Taksim. I also crossed over to the Asian side. I greatly enjoy exploring different parts of Istanbul and discovering the city on my own.'
Nübel, who also spoke about his hobbies outside of football, expressed a particular interest in analog photography.
The accomplished goalkeeper, who never let his camera slip from his hand while exploring the city, concluded his words by sending a message to his fans:
'I take pictures while touring Istanbul. It's a great pleasure for me to capture the city in photos as I wander around. With the support of our fans, we aim to have a fantastic season. Hopefully, by the end of the season, we will have achieved successes that will bring joy to our fans, all together.'
