Sevdam Karadeniz Bows Out After 4 Episodes, Becoming the Season's Fifth Early Finale
Turkish drama Sevdam Karadeniz aired its final episode, its 4th, on Monday, November 2, becoming the fifth early finale of the season. It follows Çirkin, A.B.İ., Aşk ve Taht and Mercan Köşk. Together, these five shows managed only 24 episodes this season. With their exit, 21 series remain on Turkish TV: TRT 1 leads with five, while ATV, which opened the season with five dramas, now has just two on air.
Sevdam Karadeniz ended the journey it began on October 12 with its 4th episode on November 2.
Shot in Trabzon and Maçka, the NOW series said goodbye to viewers with the episode that aired on Monday night. In the Mia Yapım production, Erdem Adilce played Kuzey and Meltem Akçöl played Zeyşan.
The show had lost six cast members before it even reached the screen and stayed in the headlines all summer with departure news. After the second episode on October 19, journalist Birsen Altuntaş reported that NOW had decided to end the series with its fourth episode.
The finale ranked 34th in the Total category with a 0.91 rating and missed the top 30 in all three categories.
According to TİAK data, Sevdam Karadeniz started with a 2.11 Total rating and fell to 0.91 on its farewell night. The show ranked 44th in AB with 0.54 and 33rd in ABC1 with 0.88.
Before the finale, Meltem Akçöl, who played Zeyşan, drew attention with a social media post. The young actress expressed her frustration that the story was left unfinished, writing: 'We also apologize for not being able to give you a real finale.'
The five shows that ended early this season aired just 24 episodes in total.
With Sevdam Karadeniz, the 2026-2027 season's early finale list has reached five shows. Here are the finale dates and the number of episodes each aired this season:
Çirkin (Star TV): October 4, 3 episodes
A.B.İ. (ATV): October 6, 5 episodes
Aşk ve Taht (ATV): October 7, 5 episodes
Mercan Köşk (ATV): October 17, 7 episodes
Sevdam Karadeniz (NOW): November 2, 4 episodes
Two of them were returning shows: Çirkin and A.B.İ. lasted only a few weeks into their second seasons.
ATV took the biggest hit
ATV carried three of the five finales alone with A.B.İ., Aşk ve Taht and Mercan Köşk, and is now competing with only Altı Üstü İstanbul and Güneşin Doğduğu Yer. The contrast with last year is striking: the first finale of the 2025-2026 season aired on November 7, meaning that at this point last year, not a single series had ended.
21 series remain on air after the finales, with TRT 1 leading the way with five.
With Sevdam Karadeniz gone, Monday nights are now down to Evlilik Güzeldir, Uzak Şehir and Altı Üstü İstanbul. Here are the series on air, channel by channel:
TRT 1: Evlilik Güzeldir, Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı, Taşacak Bu Deniz, Gönül Dağı, Teşkilat
NOW: Yeraltı, Halef: Köklerin Çağrısı, Ömür Usta, Anne Yarısı
Kanal D: Daha 17, Uzak Şehir, Güller ve Günahlar, Haysiyet
Star TV: Sevdiğim Sensin, Başkalarının Hayatı, Tuzlu Kahve
Show TV: Kızılcık Şerbeti, Sevdan Bir Ateş, Muhtemel Aşk

New winter shows could push the number back to 30
Channels are lining up new projects. ATV plans to bring its lineup to four with Oktay Kaynarca's Hamal and Evlat, starring Hazal Subaşı. Centilmen, Adana Ayazı and Şapkacı Kadınlar are waiting at NOW; Karakuyu and Susuz Yaz at Kanal D; Cevher at Show TV; and Yörük Kızı at TRT 1. It is not yet known which channel will air Kaderin Cilvesi, Neslihan Atagül's comeback series.
