The Governorship of Istanbul has issued a warning for the megacity, based on data from the General Directorate of Meteorology. The announcement, which indicates the onset of heavy rainfall beginning on Tuesday, September 22, also suggests a significant drop in temperature. Thermometers in Istanbul, set to hover below seasonal norms, are expected to cause a sudden drop in air temperature by 5 to 7 degrees. Consequently, Istanbul residents are in for a rather cold and rainy day with this decline.

'It is anticipated that heavy rainfall and thunderstorms will commence across our province from the morning hours of tomorrow (Tuesday, September 22nd), intensifying throughout Tuesday and Wednesday.
It is predicted that the rainy system will depart our province after the evening hours of Wednesday, September 23rd. Accompanying the rainfall, temperatures are expected to significantly drop, maintaining levels 5 to 7 degrees below the seasonal norms. The wind is projected to blow moderately from northern directions, occasionally reaching speeds of 30 to 50 km/hour. We strongly urge our citizens to exercise caution and take necessary precautions against potential adversities such as flooding, water logging, strong winds during the rainfall, and disruptions in transportation.'
