This device triggers lucid dreams, allowing users to be aware of being asleep and control their dreams.
Described by Prophetic as a "non-invasive neurostimulation device providing the ultimate open-ended environment for problem-solving," Halo is claimed to have the user's imagination as its only limit.
Eric Wollberg, the company's founder, mentioned that activating the dream state using focused ultrasound signals could provide users with the opportunity to practice demos or find creative solutions for challenging tasks.
The company's website suggests that in lucid dreams, individuals can be free from traditional physical rules, such as gravity, energy, and the conservation of mass.

Throughout history, many luminaries in science, mathematics, and the arts have attributed significant discoveries to lucid dreams.
In 2017, scientists from the University of Adelaide tested three techniques that could increase the likelihood of experiencing lucid dreams.
These techniques included regularly checking the environment, setting an alarm after a specific time to support REM sleep, and reminding oneself to be aware when dreaming. Participants who tried the third technique saw a 46% success rate in experiencing lucid dreams.
Prophetic is not the first company to offer the ability to experience lucid dreams, but others have yet to develop a product consistently delivering this experience to consumers.
Prophetic has raised over $1 million to enhance this headband device and collaborated with one of the designers of Elon Musk's Neuralink device.
