Pensioners who receive raises based on the six-month inflation difference are curious about how much their pensions will be in 2027. The first strong indicators have started to emerge regarding the January 2027 increase rates, which concern 20 million civil servants, retired civil servants, Social Security Institution (SSK) and Self-Employed Pension Fund (BağKur) members. So, how much will the pension be? Here are the new figures.

The countdown for the New Year's wage increases has begun. As of January 2027, the new salaries of millions of citizens will be determined. Pensioners, who receive a raise twice a year, are curious about how much their pensions will increase in the new year.
Following the data from July, all eyes are now on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) figures for August, the second critical data set that will finalize the rate of increase. As attention is focused on inflation figures and expert commentary, new predictions have arrived for the pension wage.
How much will the SSK and Bağ-Kur pension increase be?
Retirees receive a raise directly based on the six-month inflation difference. Market expectations for SSK and BağKur retirees fluctuate between 9.9% and 10.8%. Economists participating in the expectation survey organized by AA Finance predict that inflation will increase by 1.86% in August and the year-end CPI will be realized at 29.49%. If this scenario comes to life, the six-month inflation in the second half of 2026 will be recorded as 9.97%. Thus, SSK and BağKur retirees will face a 9.97% increase in the new year.
Civil servant and retired civil servant 2027 raise
For civil servants and retired civil servants, the process operates within the framework of collective bargaining provisions. Public servants who will receive a fixed increase of 5% for the first half of the new year, according to the decision of the Public Officials Arbitration Board, will also be entitled to the inflation difference exceeding 7% of the inflation in the second half of 2026.
The new figures for the January 2027 increase have been calculated down to the penny.
If AA Finance's year-end expectation comes to fruition, civil servants and retired civil servants will gain an inflation difference of 2.78%. When the 5% collective bargaining increase is also added, the total increase rate will reach 7.91%. If this scenario becomes definite;
The lowest civil servant salary will rise from 70,224 liras to 75,779 liras,
The lowest retired civil servant salary will increase from 31,527 liras to 34,021 liras,
The lowest SSK and BağKur retirement payment will also rise from 23,552 liras to 25,900 liras.
On the other hand, the Central Bank's August Market Participants Survey points to a different picture. Participants' year-end inflation expectation is at 29.43%. According to this prediction, while the inflation for the second half of the year will be 9.91%; SSK and BağKur retirees will get a raise of 9.91%, and civil servants will receive a total increase of 7.86% with an inflation difference of 2.72%.
The highest raise expectation, however, emerged from the research of the Financial Institutions Union. According to the sector representatives' year-end inflation prediction of 30.47%, the raise for SSK and BağKur retirees could reach 10.8%, while the increase rate for civil servants could go up to 8.73%. In this scenario, the lowest civil servant salary will exceed the limit of 76,355 liras.
