Oscar-Nominated Star to Donate Kidney to Save a Stranger
Oscar-nominated actor Jesse Eisenberg has finally made official a decision he's been mulling over for years: he's going to donate his kidney to a stranger. Following his announcement, he shared a few more thoughts, urging others by saying, 'If you have the time and the inclination, this is definitely something that should be done.' Now, let's delve into the details.
Eisenberg revealed on the Today show that the surgery was scheduled for mid-December and proceeded to explain the process.

'Let's say there's someone in Kansas City in desperate need of a kidney, but their child or relative can't donate due to tissue incompatibility. If my kidney is a match for that person, it's given to them. Then, if that person's relative matches with someone else, they can donate their kidney. This creates a chain-like system, but for it to function, it initially requires a completely voluntary donor to kick-start the process. I believe people will come to realize how sensible this is. If you have the time and the desire, it's definitely something that should be done.'
He has been wanting to donate his kidney for 10 years, but only now has he been able to make plans for it.

Eisenberg is also a regular blood donor. In essence, he is taking tangible action by channeling his fame towards raising awareness for organ donation. The response from the audience is already leaning towards support, with comments such as 'a role model' proliferating on social media.
