According to a report by Birsen Altuntaş, Ceren Karakoç is returning to the cast of Kızılcık Şerbeti as Nursema.
Nursema has been the most talked-about character in recent weeks on Show TV’s hit series Kızılcık Şerbeti. According to journalist Birsen Altuntaş, Ceren Karakoç, who has played Nursema since the show’s first episode aired on October 28, 2022, will return to the series in the role. The report comes shortly after Karakoç made headlines for saying she no longer watched the show.
Nursema had died in an accident in the opening scene of Season 5, and her grave was shown on screen as well.
With her successive marriages and a story that saw her find her own voice over time, Nursema became one of the show’s most beloved characters over four seasons. But Season 5 opened with an unexpected goodbye for Ceren Karakoç: Nursema died in the season’s very first scene, and her gravestone appeared on screen in the premiere.
Karakoç said she learned of the decision to write her out during a phone call while she was on vacation, and had no prior warning about how Nursema’s story would end. In an interview with Ayşe Arman, the actress said she had imagined a “happy ending” for Nursema and revealed that she hadn’t watched the new episodes that began without her: “But, of course, I didn’t watch.”
News of the return broke shortly after Kızılcık Şerbeti underwent a change in its writing team.
A new era has begun on the series. Melis Civelek and Zeynep Gür, who had written Kızılcık Şerbeti since its first episode, have stepped down. The writing team now consists of Ozan Yurdakul, Meryem Gür, Burcu Över and Caner Güler.
The new team recently won viewers’ praise for keeping Pembe, Nursema and Mustafa in the story. Some fans, meanwhile, took to social media to call for Doğa and Firaz’s romance to return to the screen.
Against this backdrop, news of Nursema’s return has only deepened curiosity about the direction the new writers will take the series. Viewers are already eagerly awaiting a statement from Ceren Karakoç or the production company.
