'Working with Stanley Kubrick was amazing. During the shoots, he would tell us, 'Don’t put me on a pedestal.' That was his number one rule. He didn’t want flattery. He encouraged us to express our own ideas. Kubrick had a positive impact on my performance. He trusted me to portray Alice. He discovered my mischievousness and provocative nature. I think that’s why he chose me. Once he trusted me, it was just up to me to trust myself as well. Given that, I added my courage to the character of Alice.'
