Major Turkish Textile Company Exports to 14 Countries and Files for Concordat
The textile titans of Turkey are in the grip of an economic crisis. A multitude of firms are shifting their production to Egypt due to issues with raw materials and the ongoing economic hardships. This has set off alarm bells for the giants that remain in Turkey. Most recently, Ataca Textile, which exports to 14 countries, declared bankruptcy protection.

Established in 2014, Ataca Textiles quickly rose to prominence as a brand in knitwear and home textiles, particularly known for its baby products. Its decision to ship products from Denizli to a total of 14 countries, including powerhouses of Europe such as Germany, France, Italy, and the UK, as well as the USA and Russia, sent ripples through the industry.
Operating from its massive facility in the Göveçlik neighborhood of Merkezefendi district, a court granted a temporary respite of three months for Ataca Textiles, effective from April 22, 2026. This decision, made under the Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law, serves as a lifeline for the company to continue its operations and restructure its financial situation.
For the transparent and healthy progression of the concordat process, a committee of three commissioners was appointed by the court. The team, consisting of Adnan Selçuk, Engin Erenler, and Müyeser Kavaklı, will closely monitor all financial movements and commercial activities of the company.
