The colossal company from Bursa has gone bankrupt.

Based in Bursa, Watan Design Furniture Trade and Industry Corporation (WD Group) was a prominent player in the industry, recognized for its high-tech R&D infrastructure and operating out of a colossal integrated production facility spanning 15,000 square meters.

However, the end of the road has arrived for WD Group, which had previously applied to the court for concordat in order to regain its financial balance and buy some time against its creditors. The Bursa Commercial Registry Office has completed its final evaluation regarding the active company.

Having stepped into the commercial world in the early 2012 and quickly becoming a global player under the 'WD Group' brand, the company was manufacturing wooden, metal, painted, and upholstered furniture for hospitals, schools, shopping malls, and residential projects. The bankruptcy of the brand, which offered a 'Contract Solution' with its 500 square meter storage area and massive production capacity, created a significant shockwave not only in the furniture industry, but also in the construction and supply chain.

Under the scope of Article 288 of the Execution and Bankruptcy Law (EBL), a public announcement has clarified the pace and method of the liquidation process for the colossal company. The court has decided to proceed with the 'simple liquidation' method. This decision was promptly communicated to the Bursa Bankruptcy Directorate via official correspondence. Instructions were also given to transfer all bankruptcy advances collected on behalf of the company to the accounts of the relevant directorate, with the aim of initiating the liquidation process.

The roadmap for subcontractors associated with the company, ongoing projects, and creditors will gain clarity following the liquidation procedures to be conducted within the Bursa Bankruptcy Directorate.
