> Kendrick Lamar Announces Release Date For Next Album, Final for Top Dawg Entertainment

Last year, universally acclaimed rapper Kendrick Lamar announced that he would leave his original label, Top Dawg Entertainment, after one more record. Top Dawg Entertainment has released every Kendrick Lamar album, though the last three received major label distribution following a partnership with UMG labels Aftermath and Interscope. At long last, that album of prophetic nature has been officially announced, with a title and release date showing up in the surprisingly near future.

Since Kendrick Lamar's widespread and highly sought-after record Good Kid, M.A.A.D City came out in 2012., this Compton rapper has stayed at the top of the music world. His subsequent releases, including the movie-inspired collection Black Panther: The Album and the compilation untitled unmastered, have all reached #1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. Kendrick Lamar has received 14 Grammys and a Pulitzer Prize.

Projects Since ‘DAMN.’

Kendrick Lamar has been largely absent from the music business for a few years now, aside from curating the acclaimed collection for Marvel’s Black Panther. He popped up on one single with his cousin Baby Keem in 2021, but his main venture has been co-founding the multi-platform media company PGLang. Co-founder Dave Free has been friends with Kendrick Lamar for many years and similarly announced his departure from Top Dawg in 2020, around the time of the PGLang announcement.

New Album Name and Release Date

Kendrick Lamar’s new album is called Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, and it is set to release on May 13th. The album will be available on all streaming services.
