Memiş, who drew attention to the gold prices in January, stated, 'In January, when there was no war, the price of an ounce of gold had risen to $5,600, and the price of a gram of gold had reached 8,157 TL. There were frothy and bubble pricing at this point. These prices were our warning of a bubble about to burst. They popped this bubble in January. They have instilled the perception that 'gold and silver prices will not fall.' They have incurred high costs.'

Furthermore, Memis forecasted that the price per gram could even hit the 10,000 lira mark by the end of the year, stating:
'There are two possibilities when it comes to gold. Either we will see war or peace... If the war continues, we could see the price per ounce of gold reach between 4,650 and 4,400 dollars. We could mention a price of 6,500 lira per gram.
In the month of May, the first target for the price per ounce could be around 5,200 dollars.
During the summer months, specifically in July and August, we could see figures exceeding 8,000 lira per gram.
With the support of the dollar, I predict that we could see levels of 10,000 lira per gram by the end of the year.'
