Known as the queen of RnB, soul, and jazz with her unique style and powerful voice, the British singer captivated everyone's hearts with songs like "Back To Black," "You Know I'm No Good," and "Rehab."
Her loves and pains, which continued to live fresh in the minds of her fans even after her passing, will be brought to the big screen with a film titled after one of her most famous songs, "Back to Black."
Since the project was announced and images of Abela's character surfaced on the internet, many have questioned the necessity of a film about Winehouse.
While some accuse the film of exploiting her life, a short video of Abela, the Grammy-winning star playing the lead role, singing in the film has faced harsh criticism online.

However, director Taylor-Johnson, who met with Winehouse's family before the film, believes that "Back to Black" is not as controversial as claimed and explains why.
In an interview with The Times, she said, "No, I don't think it's controversial in any way," and added:
'There's always a lot of noise around something like this, but no one has actually seen the film yet. We did this with Amy's lyrics, music, and perspective.'
Taylor-Johnson acknowledged that "something else" could indeed be "exploitative," but she said this particular film is "lacking in tragically looking back at the past from the future."
