The adaptation of Warren Adler's novel 'The War of the Roses,' previously adapted into a film of the same name, has begun development for a new film.
'The Roses,' a dark comedy film, will star 'Sherlock Holmes' star Benedict Cumberbatch and Oscar-winning actress Olivia Colman in the leading roles.
The screenplay for the film is written by Tony McNamara, who was recently nominated for an award for 'Poor Things' and is also known for writing Yorgos Lanthimos' previous film 'The Favourite.'
Jay Roach will direct the film, with producers including Adam Ackland, Leah Clarke, Ed Sinclair, Tom Carver, Jay Roach, and Michelle Graham.
